About me
My name is Brad, I'm 22 from Somerset and I am an IT Consultant for Computeam! I've been working with Computeam and in the industry as a whole for just under 22 months. I started off here midway through 2022 as an apprentice at level 3, which I really took by storm and passed with a distinction in just under 15 months and I have now progressed onto a level 4 apprenticeship studying cyber security.

Why I joined Computeam
Joining Computeam just made sense to me. As someone who's always had an interest in IT but never really knew where start, Computeam looked to be a promising place where I could start my IT journey, due to their focus on personal development and upskilling apprentices. I've always had a passion for helping people understand and Improve their IT and Computeam's mission and values has given me the perfect foothold to do so.

My first role
I started off as an apprentice IT consultant, working solely on our service desk. I would spend my days working with our customers from all over the country, providing remote support and consultation on a wide range of issues.

My Current role 
I am now a fully fledged IT Consultant, working a hybrid role of service desk and field consultancy. I decided to take the hybrid approach as I am really passionate about providing hands-on and face-to-face support to our customers. All of the schools I used to shadow at I have now taken on as my own and I couldn't be happier!

Training & experiences so far 
Alongside completing my level 3 apprenticeship, I have pursued a couple of industry certifications, most notably the CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Cloud Essentials+, both of which I have achieved. I've also spend lots of time completing various training courses provided by our partners. Most importantly to me though, about 12 months into my employment, Computeam gifted me the opportunity to shadow a couple of our field consultants which gave me an invaluable set of new skills and knowledge.

Where do I want to be in 5 years
This is an interesting question and honestly, I have been so fortunate with my rapid progression so far, who knows what the future may hold! I can say confidently though that I'll be moving into a more cyber security focused role after the completion of my level 4. There is a lot of untold potential in cyber security at Computeam and I'd love to be at the forefront of it!

Outside of the office
Outside of work I am an avid PC gamer and I love going to music shows and festivals! Otherwise I spend my free time studying and generally trying to improve myself, just because I love it!
