Getting your IT ready for the September

I’m sure you don’t need reminding just how manic the start of September can be and given how this year has been so far I imagine I speak for many by saying we are all feeling a little anxious as the start of September approaches. They say fortune favours the prepared so we'd like to try and provide some help in getting your school IT support provision prepared for those first weeks back and provide some peace of mind in these uncertain times.

The demand for our service desk in September is huge, with emails and calls sometimes reaching 300% of our standard service levels. However, during these last few weeks of August, we are still experiencing lower than normal ticket volume. Our recommendation would be to get your issues logged now. If you can get into school for an hour or two over the next couple of weeks, why not check some of the following examples?

  • Can you login to your machine and emails in school?
  • Can you access all your documents, shared drives and resources?
  • Do you have any plans to use particular websites in September, do they need unblocking on the school web filter?
  • Does your projector and board all power on and work as expected? (especially the one in the main school hall!!)
  • Do your laptops/iPads have the required apps on ready to teach?

Run through the above list and if you have any issues then don't hesitate to contact us on 0800 862 0123 or email support@computeam.co.uk.
